From EU OBD to OBD2

Although you can think diagnostic it’s just about detecting failed components, there is much more than that as the different legislation may introduce significant differences in the function implementation. European vehicle manufacturers that want to move to different markets will find that the adaptation of the OBD system may be very difficult and time consuming, often leading to delay in SOP and significant cost due to diagnostic deficiencies.

In Dumarey Softronix we adapted an EU based OBD system for a diesel application to a compliant OBD2 ULEV125 capable for a Light Duty application.

Since then, the system has been continuously updated for even more stringent legislation (up to ULEV 70) and for Heavy Duty applications, enabling our customer to get certified by Californian Air Resource Board and go ahead with production in US without delays.
